Want to do something a little more hands-on Friday night? PLAYTE Kitchen is hosting a Pad Thai & Penang Curry cooking class.

One of Naples' longest-running weekend traditions returns Saturday morning.

The Third Street South Farmers Market has been operating for more than 30 years and features local growers and independent vendors selling produce, flowers, plants, seafood, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee and other specialty items.

During the summer season, the market is located in the parking lot behind Tommy Bahama and runs from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.

SCORE Naples 2nd Annual Business Pitch Competition

Local entrepreneurs take center stage Saturday during the second annual SCORE Naples Business Pitch Competition.

Think of it as a local version of Shark Tank.

Eight finalists will pitch their businesses before a panel of community leaders while competing for a share of $11,500 in prizes.

SCORE expects approximately 100 entrepreneurs, business owners, mentors and community supporters to attend.

For anyone interested in entrepreneurship or Southwest Florida's growing small-business community, this may be one of the more interesting events of the weekend.

The Creative Calusa

Families can learn more about the people who lived in Southwest Florida long before Naples existed during The Creative Calusa at the Collier Museum at Government Center.

The program offers a firsthand exploration of traditional Calusa crafts and provides a family-friendly opportunity to learn about an important part of Southwest Florida history.

Worth the Short Drive: 5th Annual 9/11 Naples Memorial Stair Climb

Sunday, September 13

One of the most meaningful events in Southwest Florida this weekend takes place Sunday morning on Marco Island.

The 5th Annual 9/11 Naples Memorial Stair Climb honors the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and civilians who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Participants can climb the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center towers, although completing all 110 flights is not required.

The climb begins at 8:46 a.m., the time American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower.

Proceeds benefit the Brotherhood Ride, a nonprofit organization that supports families of fallen first responders. The first 200 registered participants are also scheduled to receive a commemorative challenge coin.

With 2026 marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, the event carries additional significance this year.

September may technically be part of Southwest Florida's quieter season, but that doesn't mean there's nothing happening.
